.WHO IS , JOE KIDD ?
From early on Joe realize his love for dogs, and at age 48 years old he still claims to have had the smartest dog in 3rd grade. At age 17 in 1977 he joined Skyway kennels under the teaching of Don Anderson and staff, after two years he later joined dogs only training center under David L. Robinson and his introduction to dog bite prevention, Joe assisted Mr. Robinson in grade school seminars and dog training. Next came the 80's Joe Kidd found instruction under LT. Earl Jones Dog Training School for dog trainers, here is where he greatly inproved his training and handling skills. from there 1983- 84 Joe went to Davenport, Iowa to train with old friends Don Cruse and County Sheriff Lee Powell of the Iowa police dept. 1984 - 86 Joe Kidd was head trainer for (Home of the Champs) dog training school on the southside of Chicago, It was around this time Joe started promoting local dog shows for the average dog owner who wanted to show off his or her dog, it was always a goal of Joe's to promote positive pet ownership. End of 86 intil early 1990 Joe was self employed under the name Reliable Dog Training, in May of 1990 Joe caught the eye of Mr. Bill Taylor, Owner of the largest man/dog team security company in Illiois. 1990-93 Joe worked as a Security officer/assistant trainer under the great Ray Mackey. He was allowed to use his personal dog while on patrol. 1993 Joe started as head trainer for National K-9 Security Inc. There his job was to train and monitor all 240 dogs that were owned by the company. Later he became kennel manager where his job also included the hiring and firing of all kennel staff and the training of all new security officers in the proper use of trained patrol dogs. Over the years Joe has trained over 3000 security officers and 2000 dogs to work in locations such as NAVY PIER, O-HARE AIRPORT, MIDWAY AIRPORT, C.T.A. CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT HARBOR PATROL,McCORMICK PLACE ,and TASTE OF CHICAGO and many more locations.
While employed by National k-9 Joe headed up the dog bite prevention program offered by the company, over the years he has trained 1000 COM-ED meter readers to avoid dog bites, ILLINOIS GAS CO. also benefitted by having some one hundred meter readers attend the seminars, JOE KIDD instructed seminars throughout Illinois location such as ADDISON IL, ALGONQUIN, BATAVIA, BELLWOOD, BELVIDERE, BERWYN, BLOOMINGTON, BLUE ISLAND, BRADLEY, CALUMET CITY, CHICAGO HEIGHTS, CRETE IL, DUNDEE, FLOSSMOOR, FREEPORT, HAZEL CREST, AND MANY OTHERS.
JOE KIDD stayed busy doing what he loved, and still manage to attend drug detector dog training and handling course one day a week for five years under the instruction of Alex Rothacker of TOPS IN DOG TRAINING CORP. With that training under his belt Joe was able to assist Mr.Bill Taylor with his war on drugs by going into schools both middle and high school to search for drugs, now with countless searches under his belt he was often sent out to perform searches of large companies contracted by National k-9 again, these searches took Joe all over the state of ILLINOIS. During the years Joe came to meet officer JOSHEP BRODRICK ( MASTER) dog trainer for COOK COUNTY SHERIFF CANINE / NARCOTIC UNIT, in the years of thier friendship Mr.Brodrick also made a contribution to Joe's knowledge of drug detection, an officer's mental state of mine in concern with the proper uses of trained k-9s, and various methods passed on over the years. To date Joe has participated in many competitions and to his credit over 40 first place wins.

Joe kidd along with loving wife Diane and good friends Alvin Foster and Tim Crawford has founded the ILLINOIS K-9 TRAINING CLUB, with only one thing in mine (promoting positive pet ownership ) through, training and education and awareness, we have come to know that this is not an easy task to do, but with the 1000's of dog lovers out there our job is fastly becoming easier.
